The U.S. Department of Homeland Security says Chinese citizens are allowed to attend classes in China that are offered by state-run schools.
The DHS statement, which was released late Thursday, says a U.N. panel in New York recommended China Train Class be added to its list of accredited classes that have been certified by the U.K. and the U,S.
in the past year.
The panel was made up of officials from the U of A, U. of C, U of M, UofP, UO, UQM and UQU.
The U of S said last month it will host the China Train classes on Feb. 11.
China Train Classes are widely used in the U-19 and U-20 soccer, basketball and baseball programs.
They can be taught in Chinese as well as English.
